Therapies Directory is dedicated to practitioners of methods, which can offer an individual therapeutic relief. There are a number of traditional and complementary therapies available to help treat various complaints. Individuals should always seek advice from their doctor before consulting any therapist

Guide to Therapies Directory categories?

ACUPUNCTURE? section is dedicated to practitioners and clinics that offer acupuncture treatments. Acupuncture is a holistic approach to disease management and health maintenance. Developed over 2000 years in the Far East, it is a system of healing involving the insertion of fine needles into the body. Often described as a means of pain relief, Acupuncture is also used as a complementary therapy to treat people with a wide range of illnesses.

CHIROPODIST? section is dedicated to practicing Chiropodists who specialize in assessing, diagnosing and treating abnormalities and diseases of the feet. They are trained to alleviate, prevent and correct disorders. Foot pain or problems can be an indication of a more serious condition, so seek early advice. A Chiropodist can provide professional advice on proper foot care to patients.

CHIROPRACTOR? section is dedicated to practicing chiropractors, who diagnose and treat mechanical disorders of the joints, muscles and ligaments of the body. They use their hands to adjust the joints of the spine and limbs where signs of restrictions in movement are found ? offering improved mobility, pain relief and reduced nerve irritation. While this complementary therapy treatment often centres on the back, a Chiropractor may also diagnose, treat and manipulate other areas.

HOMOEOPATHY? section is dedicated to homoeopathic practitioners, who use a system of treating diseases in which ill people are given very small amounts of natural substances, which in healthy people would produce the same effects as the diseases produce. Homoeopathy is a widely used and trusted complementary therapy that bases its treatments on both the recognition of symptoms of the illness, and wider considerations of each individual?s personal wellbeing.

HYPNOTHERAPY? section is dedicated to practicing hypnotherapists, who apply hypnotic techniques in such a way as to bring therapeutic changes. The therapist offers assistance in activating the inner resources of a person in order to achieve realistic goals. Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy used primarily to treat feelings, phobias and habits that affect an individual?s overall wellbeing.

OSTEOPATH? section is dedicated to practicing osteopaths who treat injuries to bones and muscles using pressure and movement. With their hands, an Osteopath can identify abnormalities within the body?s structure and function; they then facilitate the body?s ability to heal itself through a variety of stretching, mobilizing and manipulative techniques.

PHYSIOTHERAPY? section is dedicated to practicing physiotherapists who treat individuals with physical problems caused by accidents, illness and aging, and people with physical and mental difficulties. Physiotherapy can include a range of treatments including manipulation, massage, therapeutic exercise, electrotherapy, ultrasound and hydrotherapy

REFLEXOLOGY? section is dedicated to practicing reflexologists who use massage methods to reflex area found in the feet to improve blood flow and overall wellbeing. In the feet there are reflex areas corresponding to all the parts of the body. Reflexology is a complementary therapy that treats the body as a whole, addressing both symptoms and their causes.
